Anna Kendrick to pen book

On April 20, 2015

If you don’t follow Anna Kendrick on twitter you must do immediately. She is generally awesome at everything she does. From starring in Twilight to Up in the Air with George Clooney, Kendrick continues to impress. Remember ‘When I’m Gone’ from Pitch Perfect? Here is a reminder to add a little happiness to your morning.

This year Kendrick starred in Disney's Into the Woods with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt.

2015 is turning out to be her year. She will be adding author to her list of achievements. She’s just signed a deal with Touchstone to release a book of funny personal essays. Simon & Schuster will be publishing her book in the UK in autumn 2016.

Abigail Bergstrom, commissioning editor at S&S UK said: “We are immensely proud to be welcoming Anna Kendrick to our list, joining forces with Touchstone in the US. Anna’s wit, self-deprecation and wry sense of humour will translate brilliantly onto the page. We shall be thoroughly entertained, moved and captivated by her unique take on life and, for S&S across the world, this will be a stunning book for our autumn 2016 list.”

Here’s Kendrick's announcement ...

"I’m excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I’d like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself. And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I’m very, very funny on Twitter, according to BuzzFeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea. Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!"

Now that is reason enough to look forward to the release of Kendrick's book.
