Brie Larson (Oscar-winning star of Room) is set to star and produce a film about the first woman to run for president in the United States.

Victoria Woodhull, a leading figure in the American suffragist movement, was nominated for President of the United States in 1872. It was 50 years later that the 19th amendment gave women the right to vote in 1920.

The film will be made by Amazon Studios and is written by Ben Kopit.

Larson is currently starring in Kong: Skull Island.
