Stuck inside with the winter blues and a tiny toddler? Fearne Cotton’s Yoga Babies shows how you can keep your little ones active and calm with some simple stretches and poses. The story follows a class of tots as they practise yoga on their bedroom floors, in the kitchen, and even on picnic rugs in the park!

Yoga can be a therapeutic activity that focuses our minds and excess energy. Fearne Cotton shows how it can also be a fun way for parents to exercise and interact with their children. Each pose has been approved by a qualified yoga instructor and is explained in simple rhyming language, with the question “Can you do it too?” encouraging little ones to copy Rex, Honey and their friends through bridges and butterflies all the way to bedtime.

Sheena Dempsey’s bright and bold illustrations capture the playfulness of our little ones in everyday scenes. Her depictions of different types of families celebrate diversity whilst also showing that, within any household, kids will inevitably be kids – with snotty noses and teary eyes and short attention spans – so yoga can be used to channel this energy into something fun that everyone in the family can join in on.

YogaBabiescoverAnd with International Yoga Day being celebrated this Thursday 21st June, it is the perfect time for parents to bond with their own yoga babies by perfecting a few basic yoga moves. You can buy the book here.
