Jane Austen fans are in for a treat this year. After the success of Pride and Prejudice’s bicentennial anniversary in 2013, this year heralds the anniversary of Emma, the story of the wealthy, beautiful and accomplished Emma Woodhouse.

Not interested in marriage for herself, Emma is proud of her self-proclaimed ability to match-make others. After befriending, Harriet Smith - a young girl of unknown parentage - Emma is convinced she can find Harriet a suitable husband. But, in her quest to find Harriet the perfect match, she jeopardises Harriet's happiness and, much to her surprise, her own happiness too.

One of the most loved Austen novels, Emma was first published in 1815. It has continued in popularity with three film adaptations including the 1996 film starring Gwyneth Paltrow as Emma and nine TV adaptations.

We take a look at some of the most memorable quotes from Emma.
