Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens has been cast as the Beast in the latest Disney live-action retelling of a fairytale.

It seems Downton Abbey stars are popular in live-action features. Lily James (also from Downton) plays Cinderella in Kenenth Branagh’s live action fairytale set for release in Australian on Thursday, 26 March.

We know Dan Stevens best as blue-eyed Matthew Crawley from Downton. Emma Watson (Harry Potter) has been cast as Belle in Beauty and the Beast. She took to Twitter to confirm Stevens will play the Beast.
