Film Review: Love, Rosie

On November 6, 2014

By Sophia Whitfield
Based on Cecelia Ahernís bestselling 2004 novel Where Rainbows End, Love, Rosie is the story of two childhood friends, Alex and Rosie, who discover as they age from adolescence to adulthood that what they have been looking for has always been right in front of them.

Spanning the generations, Lily Collins and Sam Claflin play Rosie and Alex, two soulmates destined to be together.

After vowing to leave Ireland to further their education life sends them hurtling in different directions. Alex leaves his Dublin home but Rosie has to stay behind after life throws her a curve ball. With their lives now careering in different directions they struggle to maintain their friendship. Through letters, text messages and emails they keep in touch despite failed marriages, constant separation and different aspirations.

Filmed almost entirely in Ireland, this bittersweet story from the author of P.S. I Love You has a touch of Irish charm.

Love, Rosie is out in cinemas across Australia today.
