Following the gripping Series 1 cliff-hanger, Gillian Anderson returns as DSI Stella Gibson who is on the trail of serial murderer Paul Spector, played by Jamie Dornan.

Starring Emmy Award winner Gillian Anderson and written by Allan Cubitt (Prime Suspect 2), The Fall is a gripping psychological thriller that takes viewers inside the minds of two expert hunters. Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan) is a serial killer driven by dark, concealed passions and Stella Gibson (Anderson), the high-powered Detective Superintendent determined to stop him from killing again. Hidden in plain sight Spector appears to be a loving husband and father. In a satisfying twist from crime genre conventions the viewer knows the truth from the outset. Spector stalks and brutally murders his latest victim: another single, professional woman in Belfast. After he has killed, he disappears into his mundane, unexceptional life. Nothing marks this man out as the monster we know him to be. Spending equal time exploring the story of the killer and the investigator. The Fall is an intelligent and riveting drama series. The second series is coming soon to BBC First. Here is a sneak peek.
