Tell us about the character you play in Strictly Ballroom the Musical?
Shirley Hastings lives and breathes Ballroom Dancing. Her greatest ambition is to see her son excel at the thing that has given her the most pleasure . She is determined and desperate in equal measures.

Who are the dancers that inspire you?
All the dancers in Strictly Ballroom, Kate Champion and Co, Pina Bausch, Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers.

Baz Luhrmann is ....
endlessly fascinating, constantly creative, extraordinarily intuitive, resilient and generous.

Strictly Ballroom the Musical sashays its way into the Lyric Sydney on March 25.
