BBC and Netflix have joined forces to bring a new interpretation of Richard Adams’ bestselling 1972 novel Watership Down to the screen. The four part animation series will star a host of big names including Olivia Colman, James McAvoy, Ben Kingsley, Gemma Arterton and John Boyega.

The cast will be the voices of the rabbits that go in search of a new home after their warren is destroyed.

The previous film (1978) was a graphic and gory depiction of the novel. This new CGI animated mini-series will focus less on the violence allowing children to enjoy the series.
We will have to wait until next year to see just how much softer this new interpretation will be.
