Lydia Fitzsimons lives in a beautiful house with her husband and son. She adores her son and is distraught when they have to withdraw Laurence from private school after her husband loses money in a private venture. Her only concession is that they manage to keep their family home.
Lydia has never worked and yearns for one thing to complete her family. Her dogged pursuit of her dream ends in disaster.
Nugent draws her dark characters with adept precision building the tension as the novel comes to its brutal conclusion.
A compelling novel that will keep you up at night.
