Nicholas Sparks life as a bachelor is to be the subject matter of a new TV series. The bestselling author has recently split from his wife of 25 years and his latest TV venture sees a similar storyline played out.
The New Chapter focuses on a bestselling novelist who has split from his wife and enters the singles scene whilst dealing with his contradictory career as a romantic novelist.
The script for ABC Comedy will be written by Austin Winsberg (Gossip Girl) and produced by Sparks.
It is the second foray into TV for Sparks. The 1996 film The Notebook, starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, is also being adapted for TV.
