Roar, Ahernís collection of 30 stories about the modern womanís experience, will be published by HarperCollins in November.
The women in these startlingly original stories could be any of us: the women who befriend us, the women who encourage us, the women who make us brave. From The Woman Who Slowly Disappeared to The Woman Who Was Kept on the Shelf and The Woman Who Returned and Exchanged her Husband. Each woman discovers her strength; each realises she holds the power to make a change.
Kidman and producer Per Saariís Blossom Films will collaborate with Australian producer Bruna Papandreaís company Made Up Stories, US literary agent Theresa Park and Ahern and her Greenlight Go Productions label to produce a series based on†Roar. Kidman and Saari previously collaborated on the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning HBO series Big Little Lies. Kidman and Saari are also developing and executive producing The Expatriates, based on Janice Y K Leeís bestselling novel, alongside Theresa Park.
Ahern said: ďIím incredibly honoured to be working with this phenomenal team in bringing†Roar†from the page to the screen. The women in this collection have lived and breathed with me for so very long, Iím excited to begin the next journey of amplifying their voices.Ē
