Quentin Blake’s illustrations have endeared him to fans worldwide. He made his name illustrating Roald Dahl stories and has continued to entertain children with his whimsical art.

Today he celebrates his 80th birthday and as a tribute to him we have a gallery of some of his best-known and quite brilliant books.

Mr Blake confirmed a most excellent birthday present was the recent announcement that he will receive a knighthood.
