Reese Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine is to adapt Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman and Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman into film.

Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine has just been released and was selected as title to read this month. It is the story of a heroine who has learned how to survive – but not how to live. Eleanor Oliphant leads a simple life. She wears the same clothes to work every day, eats the same meal deal for lunch every day and buys the same two bottles of vodka to drink every weekend.
Eleanor Oliphant is happy. Nothing is missing from her carefully timetabled life. Except, sometimes, everything.
One simple act of kindness is about to shatter the walls Eleanor has built around herself. Now she must learn how to navigate the world that everyone else seems to take for granted – while searching for the courage to face the dark corners she's avoided all her life.

Something in The Water by Catherine Steadman features an anti-love story and will be released next year.
Erin and Mark are in love. That fanatical all-consuming kind of love where only they matter.
They have a perfect life; she's a documentary maker, he's a city banker.
They own a beautiful London town house and are planning their wedding, including a luxury honeymoon to Bora Bora.
But when we meet this couple they are in a forest; one is dead, the other digging a grave.
What went wrong? How could their love bring them to this moment amidst the trees?

Witherspoon produced the film adaptation of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, produced and starred in Wild by Cheryl Strayed, and most recently the HBO series Big Little Lies based on the book by Liane Moriarty.
