The Changing Faces of The Big Short

On January 18, 2016

TBS_INTL_1-Sht_Teaser 2The question with The Big Short was clearly: How do you make the world's sexiest men better actors? The answer was simple, put them in the worst wigs in history. We take a look at the transformations these Hollywood hunks have taken for different films, just to perk up your morning.

When four outsiders saw what the big banks, media and government refused to, the global collapse of the economy, they had an idea: The Big Short. Their bold investment leads them into the dark underbelly of modern banking where they must question everyone and everything. Based on the true story and best-selling book by Michael Lewis (The Blind Side, Moneyball), and directed by Adam Mckay (Anchorman, Step Brothers) The Big Short stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt. Watch The Big Short in cinemas on January 14.

Christian Bale has been everything from Bat Man, a pudgy mayor, a psycho to a magician. Bale plays Michael Burry in The Big Short, he’s an eccentric hedge fund manager who discovers that the US housing market is extremely unstable.

Ryan Gosling is Hollywood’s sweetheart and an all round dream, from The Notebook, Place Beyond the Pines to Crazy Stupid Love. Gosling plays Jared Vennett in The Big Short, a cool trader who finds that Burry's predictions about the market are correct.

Brad Pitt is the original babe with bank robbery, fighting, reverse aging and zombie fighting experience. Pitt plays Ben Rickert in The Big Short, a retired banker who joins the gang to profit off of the impending economy crash.

Steve Carell is a mixed bag of experience from a 40 year-old-virgin, a weather man, to a straight-up murderer. Carell plays Mark Baum in The Big Short, a hedge fund manager who is convinced to join the team after a misplaced phone call. Can we just say that his wig is it. It's everything.
