Netflix’s new series The Crown starring Matt Smith (Doctor Who) and Claire Foy premiered to rave reviews on the weekend. If you haven’t seem it we recommend you take a look – the sets and costumes are stunning and the two leads outstanding.

There has been much talk about the £120 million budget that was spent on this series, mostly on lavish costumes.

The wedding dress that Claire Foy wears in the wedding scene cost £30,000. It is an exact replica of the Queen’s 1947 wedding dress and took seven weeks to be made.

Claire Foy admitted to it weighing a ton and claims it took five days to shoot the wedding scene.
