Opera Australia and John Frost, producers of the much-loved musical The King and I, have announced a very special performance on Sunday June 8 to raise funds for the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI). The funds raised will go towards research into conditions such as allergies, diabetes and obesity, as well as finding answers to unsolved problems such as cancer and genetic conditions.

600 tickets are available to this exclusive dress rehearsal at The Princess Theatre, Melbourne at 6pm on Sunday June 8. Tickets go on sale today for this performance. Bookings can be made through Ticketmaster.

Lisa McCune stars as English governess Anna Leonowens and Jason Scott Lee plays the King for the Melbourne season. The beautifully familiar score includes such classics as Getting to Know You and Shall We Dance.
