Sabrina Boggs it at a crossroads in her life. With a husband and three children, life has a dogged monotony about it. She packs lunches for her children and then goes to work where she watches over the elderly as they swim in the pool at their nursing home. She thinks she is happy but her husband knows otherwise and has insisted on them going to marriage counseling.

To make matters worse Sabrinaís 57-year-old father has had a stroke which has led to memory loss. Paralysed down one side, he is being cared for in a home. In a desperate attempt to rekindle his memory Sabrina begins to look into his past discovering that he had a completely separate life that she and her mother knew nothing about.

Sabrina has one dayís grace. Her husband Aidan is taking the children off her hands and she is convinced she can find out enough in one day to help her father. In the morning boxes of marbles are mysteriously dropped off at the home. The collection is meticulously documented with dates and monetary value.

As Sabrina investigates her discovery she is reunited with the Boggs clan and the past her father attempted to alienate himself from. A life split in two hampers her fatherís recovery but Sabrina is determined. By helping her father she highlights the difficulties in her own life. With the full moon out anything can happen.

The Marble Collector is a thought provoking read about the consequences of secrets and lies.
