The successful collaboration between John Frost and Opera Australia continues as they announced today the principal cast for Anything Goes. It follows hot on the footsteps of the two successful Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, South Pacific and The King and I.

For 2015 Opera Australia has moved away from Rodgers and Hammerstein and popular duo Lisa McCune and Teddy Tahu Rhodes after Todd McKenney convinced Lyndon Terracini (Opera Australia) to try his hand at a spot of Cole Porter with the toe tapping Anything Goes.

Joining the cast will be Caroline O’Connor as evangelist turned nightclub singer Reno Sweeney. Popular Todd McKenney (currently playing Teen Angel in Grease) stars as Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, wealthy English fiancé of Hope. Carmen Duncan makes her musical debut as Hope’s overbearing mother Evangeline Harcourt and radio star Alan Jones plays the Captain of the S.S American.

For decades Anything Goes has captivated audiences with its madcap antics as two unlikely pairs set sail on the S.S American from New York to London in search of love. It features some of the best known musical numbers including You’re the Top, I Get a Kick Out of You and of course Anything Goes.

Winner of three Tony Awards during its recent revival on Broadway this captivating musical docks in Australia next year.
