Agatha Christie’s Crooked House is about to be adapted for film with an outstanding cast lined up. Max Irons, Stefanie Martini, Glenn Close, Christina Hendricks, Gillian Anderson and Terence Stamp make up the all-star cast.

The book is set in 1947 and was said to be one of Christie’s two favourite novels.

The Leonides were one big happy family living in a sprawling, ramshackle mansion. That was until the head of the household, Aristide, was murdered with a fatal barbiturate injection. Suspicion naturally falls on the old man's young widow, fifty years his junior. But the murderer has reckoned without the tenacity of Charles Hayward (Irons), fiance of the late millionare's granddaughter (Stefanie Martini).

There are several Christie adaptations in the works. Kenneth Branagh is working on a new version of Murder on the Orient Express. Earlier this year Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City) was announced as the star in BBC One’s The Witness for the Prosecution.

Filming for Crooked House is due to begin in the UK soon with a release date set on 2018. You can buy the book here in Australia and here in the UK.
