This week we have moved on from the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK to the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. Christmas is also in the air with festive craft and recipe ideas abounding on our TV screens.

Sunday: The Graham Norton Show, 9.30pm, Ten

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, Norton will be chatting to two Doctor Whos, Matt Smith and David Tennant as they discuss their roles in the anniversary special.

Monday: Getting On, 7pm, Foxtel Showcase

Set in a women’s extended-care unit of a Long Beach, CA hospital, Getting On follows the daily lives of a ragtag staff assigned to care for elderly patients who are, well, getting on.

Tuesday, Crossing the Ice, 7.30pm, ABC 2

The story of two Aussie mates James ‘Cas’ Castrisson and Justin “Jonesy’ Jones on a mission to walk from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and back again without any assistance. An inspiring tale of endurance.

Wednesday: Bill Bailey’s Jungle Hero: Wallace in Borneo, 7.30pm, SBS

Actor and comedian Bill Bailey is well known as a panelist on QI. In this two part series he looks at the work of British biologist and explorer Alfred Russel Wallace (1823-1913).

Thursday, Chocolat, 8.30pm, M Masterpiece

Based on Joanna Harris’s bestselling novel and starring Juliette Binoche as young mother Vianne Rocher who arrives in a French village with her daughter Anouk. Rocher opens up a chocolate shop immediately drawing the interest of the local residents.

Friday, The Living Room, 7.30pm, Ten

In this 90 minute special the team focus on Christmas with recipes and craft for the festive season. Cricketing legend Adam Gilchrist also drops in for a visit.

 Saturday, Revolutionary Road, 9.30pm, SBS1

Based on the book by Richard Yates, Revolutionary Road (directed by Sam Mendes) stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio in a fractured marriage. Kate Winslet was awarded a Golden Globe for her performance and nominated for an Oscar.
