Set in the mecca of LA, Ray Donovan is back in business and returns with an all new season. Ray is adrift from his family and those closest to him, while he focuses on business and desires to be his own boss. Katie holmes joins the cast with Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight.

Tuesday: The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, 8.30pm, History Channel
Chronicles the lives of Theodore, Franklin, and Eleanor Roosevelt, three members of the most prominent and influential family in American politics.

Wednesday, The Firm, 9.20pm, Soho
This series follows on from the successful film based on John Grisham's novel. It premieres tonight starring Josh Lucas and Molly Parker. When lawyer Mitch McDeere defends a young teen accused of murdering a classmate, he must contend with the raw emotions of the victim's family.

Thursday: Penny Dreadful, 7.30pm, Showcase
With an A-list lineup that includes Casino Royale Bond girl Eva Green, former 007 Timothy Dalton, Hollywood star Josh Hartnett, and standout performances from Billie Piper (Doctor Who, Secret Life of a Call Girl) and Helen McCrory (Peaky Blinders, Skyfall), Penny Dreadful delivers a dose of Hollywood-style gothic horror to the small screen. In tonight's episode Vanessa meets The Cut-Wife,in a flashback, who teaches her how to harness her powers.

Friday: Arthur & George, 8.30pm, ABC
To find the culprit Arthur Conan Doyle has resolved to take his fight to the highest echelons of the British establishment, even if this means exposing its prejudice and corruption. Stars Martin Clunes.

Saturday: Mission Impossible, 10pm, TEN
A secret agent is framed for the deaths of his espionage team. Fleeing from government assassins, he races to stay one step ahead of his pursuers. Stars Tom Cruise.
